Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R3ILMIQZ89OWK0 I was happy to find this case on Amazon. The only other place I found it was online at the flip store and it was $50 on that site. When it arrived, the first thing I did was a tissue test. Put some toilet paper inside and made sure there was no debris on the seal, then submerged it in the kitchen sink for a while. Tissue was dry, and so we were off to test this puppy in the pool at the YMCA. It worked great! I had to take the strap off of my flip for it to fit, but this case does come with a yellow strap that you can add to it. It floats, so no need for dive for your flip if you lose your grip. As another reviewer mentioned, make sure you have the right cam to fit this case. I see reviews of people that have bought the 1st gen watercase to fit the 2nd gen ultra hd's and giving bad reviews. There is not a way to attach this to a tripod that I can tell, and the hinge at the bottom of the case prevents it from standing up on its own. You will need to capture footage with someone holding it, or find a clever way to prop it up. I think if you are dilligent about checking the seal with each use, your flip will be fine. It states in the instructions that even one grain of sand, or a single strand of hair can cause leaks. I am exicited for next summer to enjoy this in our backyard pool, and the water rides at Cedar Point!

This is a very good case - worked just fine, did not leak water and all buttons worked well. Have some great videos now. One thing - always make sure you get the correct case for your camcorder - there are several different types available.

I bought this with the intention of using this in snow instead of water. It's nice because I can pull it out when its dumping and not have to worry about damaging my flip camera. The buttons are easy to function with your gloves on. I can pull it out, shoot some video, and toss it back in my pocket without worrying about getting the camera wet or taking off my gloves.
Right price, quality build!

Still waiting to try it out in the ocean, but so far all of my fresh/shallow water tests have lived up to my expectations. The underwater housing is surprisingly well built, especially for the price. Easy to use and well thought out!

This underwater case works exceptionally well. Shoots sharp videos under water, is easy to use and the controls are accessble. We used it for 4 straight days in Jamaica and not single drop of water leaked through.
Flip Video Underwater Case

I have not had much time to play around with the case but from I have seen, it seems pretty well made and solid. I did a paper test before trying it with my camera. While the case was submerged under water, I pressed the various controls and buttons and no water had leaked through. The manual for the case is less than desired. I have bought under water enclosure for one of my digital cameras and it suggested to lube the "o" ring before use. There was no such instruction for this case but apparently it does not need because it seems to work fine.
I am surprised that this case is only good for 30 feet. I have a one of those cheap plastic bag camera cases which is good for much deeper depths.
Overall, I am very happy with this case and should suit my needs just fine. I purchased the case so I could capture footage while snowboarding. |
I took the Flip in the Dead Sea and the Flip is still alive.

The underwater case for my Flip Ultra worked in a super fine way. I took it into the dead sea whilst on my Egypt Israel trip. I'm kicking myself for not taking it into the Red Sea. It looks cool and it works cool. So it's cool. [...].
