Both phones have a variety of features and elegant styling that should catch the attention of those looking to purchase a new touchscreen phone.
The Samsung Tocco has a solid feel and a good touchscreen interface that uses Haptic technology to give the user responsive feedback when using the 2.8 inch screen. Its size makes it very portable and easy to carry around in your pocket. The Nokia 5800 has a 3.2 inch, high resolution screen that provides the user with one-touch access to a variety of its features such as music, phone, and camera. It also comes with a stylus that will fit neatly in a slot at the rear of the phone. In addition to using your finger, the stylus gives the user another method of navigating through the different features of the phone.
The Samsung Tocco has a 5.0 megapixel camera, a 4X digital zoom, auto focus and LED flash. One significant feature that is often found on many standalone digital cameras is the automatic face detection that senses when photos of people are being taken. In addition to that feature, there is also the Smile Shot mode, which can detect when the subject is smiling. These features alone make this model worth considering. Its competitor only has a 3.5 megapixel camera, 3X digital zoom, auto focus and Dual LED flash. But despite the smaller megapixels, the other model does offers Carl Zeiss optics, which is a leader in camera optics. Both cameras offer a bevy of video and audio recording features that make the device very handy in a number of photographic or recording situations.
With one touch access to the music player, the Nokia 5800 has an 8 GB microSD card that can be upgraded to 16 GB. This gives the phone ample space to store a significant amount of tunes in your music collection. The other model also uses the microSD card for storage and it also includes an FM radio receiver. Both models uses the ultra-fast 3G network for web browsing.
Battery life on the Samsung Tocco will allow talk time up to 3 hours when using 3G and standby time lasts up to 250 hours with 3G. Phone voice quality is not as good as it can be and that gives the edge to the other model. The other modelÕs talk time extends up to 8 hours with GSM and 5 hours with WCDMA. Standby time is about 400 hours with both protocols.
Both phones offer the users a wealth of features that will give those considering the Apple iPhone or other smartphone models a reason to consider these models. With sleek and sophisticated touchscreens, robust camera phones, and good music-playing capabilities both phones are just about evenly matched. With slightly better phone quality and the larger screen, the edge may go to the Nokia 5800.
